First, she turned heads on the Oscars red carpet in her Disney princess-inspired ensemble. Then, homegirl took home the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Gerda Wegener in The Danish Girl. Now, she’s probably celebrating in the greenroom with her main squeeze Michael Fassbender a.k.a she’s living our dream life.

But it’s not all Oscars and sunshine and Michael Fassbender’s perfectly sculpted face for Vikander. Sometimes she gets nervous, and sometimes, she even has regrets — especially on red carpets or in press rooms where she has to answer dozens of (banal) questions. What if she says something that can be misconstrued? More importantly, what if she forgets to mention someone important?

Reference aource:mtvnewsAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14735412090602373767noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2164054171928084751.post-91786528682262120962016-02-29T05:11:00.000-08:002016-02-29T05:57:26.047-08:00Ent news:LADY GAGA DELIVERED THE NIGHT'S MOST POWERFUL MOMENT AT THE OSCARS
Lady Gaga’s powerful performance of “Til It Happens To You” brought Hollywood to tears Sunday night (February 28) at the 88th Academy Awards.
Introduced by Vice President Joe Biden, who asked viewers at home to pledge, “I will intervene when consent has not or cannot be given,” Gaga’s gripping performance was simply staggering in its grace and empathy.

“Til It Happens To You” is an extremely personal song for the 29-year-old performer. Additionally, study has discovered that mobile app developers can determine this information due to data leakage between Ad Networks and App Developers.

Wei Meng from Georgia Institute of Technology said that “Free smart phone apps are not really free. Apps – especially malicious apps – can be used to collect potentially sensitive information about someone simply by hosting ads in the app and observing what is received by a user. Mobile, personalised in-app ads absolutely present a new privacy threat,”.

Researchers further said that App developers prefer to accept “In App Ads” in their app. AD networks pay money to the app developers to show their ads and track users activity like gathering apps that the user has installed, geographical locations and the mobile model etc.

Also “In App Ads” showcased unencrypted as section of the Apps Graphical User Interface, which means app developers can acquire ad content targeted at specific location displayed in their app and then makes a profile of their app users.

It seems that In App Ads are actually threat to the users privacy. Chuck Savadelis, a 65-year-old photographer who has owned Apple stock for years, said, “I don’t think of it as an investor” but as a US citizen. “I admire the company,” said Lynda Gousha, a business consultant from San Jose.

Added the Rev Jesse Jackson, an Apple stock owner for 15 years: “Where we stand in controversy is a measure of our character.”

Apple investors large and small, including Jackson, gathered on the morning of 26 February for the company’s annual shareholder meeting. Normally, the agenda at these types of gathering is pretty dry: sales in emerging markets, executive compensation and stock buybacks.

But this year is different. America’s largest company is 10 days into a public standoff with the US Justice Department over whether a court can force it to rewrite iPhone code to make it easier for the government to crack the passcode of San Bernardino gunman Syed Farook.

Apple’s lawyers argue the federal court order violates the firm’s free speech rights and would set a precedent that allows the government to ask any tech firm to reengineer its products for any investigation. The government argues Apple is required to help the execution of US law if it is technically possible, which, Apple acknowledges, it is in this case.

During a chat with investors inside a black auditorium on Apple’s campus, chief executive Tim Cook, dressed in jeans and a denim shirt, tried to make light of the tensions while defending his position.

“We are a staunch advocate for our customers’ privacy and personal safety, and we’ve been in the news a bit about that,” Cook said to applause and laughter. “We do these [things] because these are the right things to do. Being hard doesn’t scare us.”

Nor does it scare investors, who instead raised questions about Apple’s enterprise sales, greenhouse gas emissions and how to use Apple Music.

“There may be some business implications, short-term hopefully,” said Gousha, the San Jose business consultant. “I’m a long-term investor.”

Karina Dundurs, 60 years old, of San Jose said: “Just because it’s a business doesn’t mean it doesn’t have an obligation to be ethical.”

Addressing Cook from the audience, Jackson, the famed civil rights leader, compared Apple’s current struggle to fights against McCarthyism in the 1950s or blowback against the Federal Bureau of Investigation for tapping Martin Luther King’s phone.

“We want to appeal to you in this critical hour to not grow weary of well doing,” Jackson said. “You are a man of integrity and character and we applaud your leadership.

Of course, not all was hunky dory at Apple’s annual retreat.

Jackson also was on hand to push a shareholder resolution that would require the board to adopt an “accelerated recruitment policy” to increase diversity among senior management and board of directors.

Shareholders, with the recommendation of Apple’s board, voted that proposal down 94.9% to 5.1%, according to an early tally. Cook afterward said, “there’s much more work to do on diversity across the company. I can commit to you we are working very hard on it.”

One investor also asked about repeated reports that Apple is working on an electric car as it gobbles up staff from established automakers. Many view it as an expensive, if tantalizing, moonshot.

Cook compared the status of that project, which he has never publicly confirmed nor denied, to the day before Christmas when kids are looking at unopened gifts under the tree.

“It’s going to be Christmas Eve for a while,” Cook said.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14735412090602373767noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2164054171928084751.post-87257073403829559602016-02-29T03:57:00.000-08:002016-02-29T05:57:26.238-08:00Sport news:Marcus Rashford’s double for Manchester United deflates Arsenal
This was a classic of sorts that featured two more Marcus Rashford goals, a sold-out stadium witnessing Louis van Gaal pleading from the floor to the fourth official, and Manchester United recording a victory that is a serious blow to Arsenal’s title hopes.

If the 10-1 odds offered during the game on Rashford making England’s Euro 2016 squad seem hasty these may be viewed generous if he continues the Hollywood start to his United career

Just as his twin strikes secured United’s passage against Midtjylland into the Europa League last 16, so his Premier League debut ended after 80 minutes with him having created Ander Herrera’s winner to complement his two goals.

The Spaniard’s strike came before the Van Gaal pantomime but tempers were already fraying when the manager decided to do what he rarely ever does: leave his seat. This received a raucous reception from the crowd. When Van Gaal yelled at Mike Dean, the fourth official, and dived to the turf to mimic how he believed Alexis Sánchez was trying to claim a foul, the place went through the roof.

It had the fans singing “Louis van Gaal’s army” for the first time in a long time and could yet revive the love affair between them and the Dutchman. Playing the reception down, Van Gaal said: “Great but the fans are not always wise.”

After his two-goal debut last Thursday Rashford was asked to do it all again versus opponents more than a couple of classes better than the Danish champions. It did not take long for him to suggest he could. From hugging the left touchline Rashford ran on a diagonal at Petr Cech’s goal, displaying a slipperiness that confounded Héctor Bellerín and Gabriel and forced the latter to foul. The shout went up for a penalty but the referee, Craig Pawson, adjudged it outside the area and Memphis Depay zipped a low hard free-kick under which Herrera ducked and Cech watched carefully.

There was only sloppiness in the way Theo Walcott ceded possession to presage the sequence that led to Rashford’s opener. Herrera took possession and sprayed it right to Guillermo Varela. The Uruguayan’s cross missed Juan Mata, Gabriel hashed his clearance, and Rashford was in dreamland once more with a neat finish.

This was on 29 minutes. Only three more were required for Rashford to repeat the feat and send the home crowd into near ecstasy. Again the play was along the United right and again Varela was a key player. This time he fashioned a slick back header to keep the ball alive. It found Jesse Lingard and when he floated in the delivery Rashford rose like a seasoned centre-forward to head beyond Cech.

The party atmosphere lasted only eight minutes as Arsenal scored and it was too simple. Mesut Özil swung in a free-kick, Marcos Rojo and Morgan Schneiderlin were slumbering, and up went Danny Welbeck to finish.

At the start of the second half Arsenal were five points behind Leicester City and embarking on 45 minutes that might make or break their championship aspirations. Sánchez signalled he understood the stakes by making a run at the defence but the threat fizzled out.

United – and Rojo’s – injury curse was about to strike again. The defender and Welbeck contested a fierce 50-50 and moments later off he went, to be replaced by the 18-year-old Tim Fosu-Mensah. It took the count to five United debutants in a week as the Dutchman was later joined by James Weir, to follow Rashford and Regan Poole against Midtjylland, and Joe Riley, in last Monday’s FA Cup victory at Shrewsbury Town.

As the hour mark came Arsenal were becalmed and Wenger made a move, taking off the disappointing Walcott for Olivier Giroud. But it was Rashford, again, who refused to be left out.

When Mata fashioned a smooth reverse pass it was into Rashford’s clever run. He moved into the area, dawdled and measured a pass to Herrera whose side-foot finish deflected off Laurent Koscielny for what turned out to be the winner.

Arsenal responded as a topsy-turvy affair took its next turn. David de Gea, who was returning from a leg injury, made a save from Welbeck but Özil volleyed into the turf and the top right-hand corner. From here the temperature rose. Herrera dropped Aaron Ramsey and the Arsenal man raised his hands to the Spaniard. Down went Herrera, up went the United fans’ ire, and after a melee of players calmed down, Pawson booked Ramsey.

Now came Van Gaal’s moment. Incensed by Sánchez, he went to remonstrate with Dean. The delirium that accompanied Van Gaal lying prone was matched when Pawson blew for full-time and United had a third consecutive win for the first time since November.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14735412090602373767noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2164054171928084751.post-54850891044849657092016-02-29T03:47:00.000-08:002016-02-29T05:57:26.280-08:00Sport news:Willy Caballero shootout heroics help Manchester City past Liverpool

When the penalties were done, a fifth trophy had been added to Manchester City’s collection from the Abu Dhabi era, Yaya Touré was twirling his shirt on his personal victory run and a swarm of photographers was heading for Willy Caballero. Caballero’s selection had been risky after his erratic performances as Joe Hart’s understudy but it was his goalkeeping that meant the first silverware of the season would be heading to Manchester and those were the moments when we saw why Manuel Pellegrini had placed his trust in him.

Caballero could not keep out Emre Can’s impudent little pitch-wedge to get the penalties underway but thereafter he was unbeatable, diving to his left to turn away a decent attempt by Lucas Leiva, a hesitant one from Philippe Coutinho, and then the other way to beat out Adam Lallana’s effort for his third successive save. Fernandinho had struck the post with City’s first penalty but Jesús Navas and Sergio Agüero were both on target and when Touré buried the next attempt it decided the game without having to go to Wilfried Bony and James Milner for the final round.

Liverpool, trying to win this competition for a ninth time, had already beaten Carlisle United and Stoke City this way, but while Caballero was hoisted on to the players’ shoulders, with the Wembley arch illuminated in blue and white and Daniel Sturridge reduced to tears, the final will be remembered as a personal ordeal for Simon Mignolet bearing in mind the unremarkable shot from Fernandinho that opened the scoring.

It was a wretched goal to concede and the unfortunate truth for Mignolet is that moment reminded us why many Liverpool supporters are perplexed he has been awarded a new five-year contract. Mignolet made some fine saves either side of that mistake but, unfortunately for him, they will quickly be forgotten in the context of the one he let through his arms.

Ahead early in the second half, City should probably have been spared extra time but for some poor officiating and their own wastefulness given the number of chances they passed up to make it 2-0. Raheem Sterling had a difficult day against his former club and turned the ball wide with two golden opportunities, the first from six yards out, and there was another reprieve for Liverpool when Agüero ran into the penalty area and Alberto Moreno flicked out his leg to bring him down. It was a clear penalty and the referee Michael Oliver’s decision to wave play on was bewildering, to say the least, with potentially serious ramifications for City when Coutinho equalised in the 83rd minute with Liverpool’s first shot on target.

Until that point Liverpool had seen plenty of the ball without making enough use of it to examine whether Caballero might be vulnerable. Pellegrini had stayed true to his word – “I’d rather lose a final than my word,” he said afterwards – and resisted any temptation to bring Hart into his team but Liverpool threatened only sporadically in the opening hour and Vincent Kompany’s considerable presence helped to ensure Caballero was well protected for the most part. Coutinho’s goal came on the rebound, after two of the substitutes had linked up and Lallana turned Divock Origi’s low cross against the post, but Kompany was excellent and Caballero’s fine work was not all reserved to the shootout. In extra time, there was a key save from Origi’s header.

Midway through the opening half Liverpool had lost Mamadou Sakho, replaced by Kolo Touré after clashing heads with Can and clearly distraught that the club’s medical staff would not let him play on. That meant Touré teaming up with Lucas in the centre of Liverpool’s defence and if that gave their back four a slightly vulnerable look there was only one moment in the first half when City put together a move that exposed their opponents. On that occasion Mignolet turned Agüero’s shot against the post. It was one of several fine saves but that is part of the Mignolet conundrum – outstanding at times but far too error-prone.

Four minutes into the second half City had the ball on the left when David Silva lofted a long, crossfield pass over to Agüero on the opposite side. Agüero held up play, waiting for Fernandinho to overlap on the right and there did not seem to be a great deal of danger for Mignolet when the shot came in. Fernandinho made a clean connection but the ball was not struck with venomous pace and the Brazilian was taking aim from a difficult angle.

Mignolet appeared to have it covered but the shot somehow found a gap, somewhere between his knees and gloves, that should not have existed. The collective groan from Liverpool’s supporters when the mistake was replayed on the large screens told the rest of the story.

In fairness to Mignolet, he did not let it affect him throughout the rest of the match, denying the impressive Yaya Touré a winner approaching the 90th -minute mark and keeping out Agüero when the Argentinian burst through in the first period of extra time. Agüero was a constant menace, with Fernandinho excelling in his new position on the right, but City were starting to look ragged in the final quarter of an hour.

They might still have spared themselves a nerve-shredding finale if Agüero had been able to turn James Milner’s misplaced header beyond Mignolet but it went to a contest from 12 yards, three saved penalties, Liverpool’s first shootout defeat in six finals when it has reached that stage – and Caballero’s finest moments in City’s colours.

Man of the match: Vincent Kompany (Manchester City)Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14735412090602373767noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2164054171928084751.post-14304164091963882822016-02-29T03:18:00.000-08:002016-02-29T05:57:26.296-08:00Entertainment news:Oscar winners 2016 the full list
All the winners from the 88th Academy Awards, as they’re announced during the ceremony
Best original screenplay
SPOTLIGHT - More than you might think. It's the results against the lesser lights that have wrecked Louis van Gaal's season, writes Adam Bate...

The last time Manchester United faced Arsenal was one of the more chastening experiences that Louis van Gaal's men have endured this season - and there's been some stiff competition. Three goals down inside 20 minutes, United were utterly overwhelmed.

And yet, that 3-0 defeat at the Emirates Stadium is the exception rather than the rule when it comes to games against the bigger teams. For all the pressure he finds himself under, the curious truth about Van Gaal this season is that his record against the best is not the issue.
In fact, the defeat at Arsenal is United's only reverse against a top-four side. They're yet to concede against Tottenham or Manchester City, while only the Gunners fared better at Leicester. Van Gaal has also done the double over Liverpool for a second successive season.

It's not been particularly pretty, but these are not the results that are holding United back. For context, in United's most recent Premier League title-winning season - Sir Alex Ferguson's final one at the helm - the results against their rivals were actually inferior.
Not only did United lose at home to Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham, but they were also beaten at Everton on the opening weekend of the season. It meant that Ferguson took only 14 points from his 10 matches against other members of the top six in 2012-13.

The marked difference came in United's dealings with the bottom half of the table. Incredibly, Ferguson's United took maximum points home and away against every single team from twelfth down - 18 wins out of 18. It was a ruthlessly efficient performance.
The contrast with Van Gaal's United is stark. As well as the home defeat to Norwich, his team has been beaten at Bournemouth, Swansea and Sunderland. Remarkably, no other team in the Premier League - Aston Villa included - has lost four times to the bottom six.

So is it bad luck or bad tactics? Van Gaal might point to Murphy's Law but United's passivity is a problem. There is talk of playing a 'positional game' but the cautious approach is proving particularly counter-productive against inferior opposition.
Van Gaal's search for controlled football is having the opposite effect. Reducing the number of opportunities for both teams makes control an illusion and increases the possibility of the other side taking what few chances there are. Everyone is in the game against United.

That's literally the case when so many matches remain goalless into the second half. Jesse Lingard's opener against Stoke this month was the first they'd scored before the break in a Premier League game at Old Trafford since September.
There had been seven games in between. Although some seek to explain this by talking of a lost aura, it's not necessarily about what the opposition are doing. More likely, it's about what United are not doing. Not enough overlaps, not enough intensity and not enough ambition. It's proving costly.

Indeed, an examination of what the Premier League table would look like without these slip ups against the bottom six highlights the significance of them. Only leaders Leicester have picked up more points-per-game than United once these results are excluded.
In other words, Van Gaal's United have a better record against the better teams than both Arsenal and Manchester City. Had they matched even the worst record of the four teams above them against the bottom six, Van Gaal's men would have 50 points - three off top.

All of which is bad news for any Arsenal supporters assuming they can travel to Old Trafford on Sunday expecting victory. Don't be too shocked if Van Gaal comes up with something. As for those May fixtures against Norwich and Bournemouth, that might be a different story.

Reference source:skysportAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14735412090602373767noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2164054171928084751.post-78480006786270478412016-02-26T07:30:00.000-08:002016-02-29T05:57:26.354-08:00Football:Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger cools favourites talk ahead of Man Utd game
Arsene Wenger admits he is relishing Arsenal's "special" clash against rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford on Super Sunday.

Title-chasing Arsenal face United on Sunday lunchtime, live on Sky Sports 1, looking to make it three league wins in a row, after last weekend's goalless FA Cup draw against Hull was followed by a 2-0 midweek Champions League loss to Barcelona.

Arsenal head into the encounter as favourites for a league game at Old Trafford for the first time in the Premier League era but Wenger insists his only focus is how his side performs on the day.
"Man Utd is a big club and Old Trafford is a special place," the Arsenal manager told reporters at his pre-match news conference.

"I believe for every club it remains a special fixture but for me favourites has no special meaning, it's opinions.

"Results are down to performances and reality and that's what we focus on. If yes, then it is possible due to Google’s new AI. It has the ability to determine the location of any image by using the image pixels.

The person behind this new technology inside Google’s Campus is Tobias Weyland, who is a computer vision scientist at Google. He has helped Google to make a neural network supported by over 91 Million Geo-Tagged Images captured across the world, hence making it possible to determine the location of almost any image. Moreover, it can also determine flora and fauna, typical objects and even different landscape in the images.

PlaNet examines the pixels in Images and after that it cross reference’s images with the millions of images present in its database and then check its resemblances. Neural Network utilizes about 377MB space, which is not a problem for Google.
Initially it was tested with over 2.3 Million Images and this new AI was effective in determining the country of the image within accuracy of 28.4 percent. Amazingly, it can determine the Continent of image with accuracy of 48 percent.

PlaNet is also effective in determining the location of nearly 3.6 percent of images at Street Level Accuracy while as it has 10.1 percent accuracy in determining city level images. PlaNet isn’t fully accurate yet, but Google is working to make it better day by day.

PlaNet also carried several tests and it has successfully overcome humans.

MIT Technology Review stated that “We think PlaNet has an advantage over humans because it has seen many more places than any human can ever visit and has learned subtle cues of different scenes that are even hard for a well-traveled human to distinguish,”.

It is really a nice move by Google, which could help us in determining the location of almost any image. It has the attached liquid cooling system in the brand new S7 which prevents the device from overheating.

“Samsung’s senior vice president of product strategy, Justin Denison at MWC announcement labelled this liquid cooling system as air conditioning for your phone. He further said “There’s a tube containing a liquid that vaporizes at high temperatures and then condenses at low temperatures”.

The procedure for the S7 cooling system is quite interesting as the liquid absorbs the heat present in device’s processor where it gets vaporized. The vapor which holds the heat passes through the tube away from the actual origin of the heat and then condenses back into a liquid where the heat is scattered.

This all new cooling system protects the important components of the device like processor as overheating can damage the device’s components which cant be repaired.

Also, in Apple’s iPhone, it automatically turns off the device if it detects the device is near overheating. It protects the components present inside from overheating.

So, this is really a good news for the gamers or those use mobile phones more often as now they won’t have to worry about the overheating of the device. At some point, we've all fallen victim to an unexplained raging appetite, which can lead to eating snacks that are high in calories, sugar and fat—and, of course, weight gain. But instead of popping pills that'll supposedly curb hunger, turn to something surprising: food. It sounds contradictory, but eating can actually suppress your appetite—as long as you choose the right foods. Try one of these extra-satisfying eats to keep your appetite in check.

1 Eggs
There's a reason people are clucking about eggs lately. A recent study from the Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Baton Rouge, LA, found that overweight people who ate eggs for breakfast take longer to get hungry later. The research participants had lower levels of ghrelin, an appetite-stimulating hormone that tells the brain to eat, and higher levels of PPY, a hormone that helps stomachs feel full. "Eggs are a perfect combination of protein and fat, so they're more satisfying than other breakfast foods," says Julie Kaye, MPH, RD, CDN, a registered dietitian in New York City. Worried about cholesterol? Don't be. "Despite the high content in yolks, eggs aren't the main culprit in raising blood cholesterol," explains Kaye. If you're still concerned, try liquid egg whites, which also contain protein and can stave off hunger.

2 Avocados
The green, creamy flesh of an avocado isn't just tasty—it's also filled with fiber and heart-healthy monounsaturated fat. In other words, avocados might be the perfect fill-you-up food. "Foods high in fiber and rich in fat take longer to digest, allowing you to experience less overall hunger—and possibly take in fewer calories," says Erin Palinski, RD, CDE, LDN, CPT, author of the forthcoming Belly Fat Diet for Dummies. Research also shows that avocados' oleic acid, a monounsaturated fat, tells your brain that your stomach is full. Just remember that, nutritious as they are, avocados are high in calories—stick to snacking on half the fruit (about 140 calories) each time.

3 Legumes
beans lentils chickpeas peanuts
A serving of beans, lentils, chickpeas or even peanuts delivers the right feel-full combo of lean protein, complex carbs and good fats. According to Julie McGinnis, MS, RD, a registered dietitian, certified herbalist and owner of The Gluten Free Bistro in Boulder, CO, research has shown that this trio can keep blood sugar stable. "And stable blood sugar means getting a full feeling—and keeping it," she says.

4 Cayenne Pepper
cayenne pepper on a plate
This potent spice is a proven appetite suppressant. Researchers from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN, found that people who added half a teaspoon of the red pepper to a meal ate 60 fewer calories at their next meal. Bonus: Sprinkling half a teaspoon of cayenne pepper over some food can cause your body to burn an extra 10 calories. Ay, caramba!

5 Water
There are lots of reasons to raise your glass for water. H2O is critical for keeping organs, joints, tissues and the digestive system functioning well, but it can also curb hunger, says Elizabeth DeRobertis, MS, RD, CDN, CDE, a registered dietitian in Harrison, NY. In fact, one study showed that participants who drank two cups of water before a meal ate 75 – 90 fewer calories than people who drank no water at all.

6 Greek Yogurt
Rich in calcium and low in sugar, Greek yogurt is protein-packed—a typical six-ounce serving has 15 – 20 grams, which is twice the amount in regular yogurt and about the same as in a piece of lean meat. "The protein in foods is one of the main factors in feeling satisfied," says Kaye. "Protein-rich foods also contain some fat in varying amounts, which also keeps you full for a longer period."

7 Soup
Eat more soup, experience fewer cravings? Absolutely, according to recent research from Pennsylvania State University. In the study, women who ate a serving of low-calorie chicken and rice soup as a morning snack (don't knock it 'til you've tried it!) ate 100 fewer calories at lunch than women who started their day with chicken-and-rice casserole. You can thank soup's high water content for that full feeling—though the fiber-filled veggies and hot temperature don't hurt (dietitians say that sipping warm liquids can curb your appetite). Make sure to slurp broth-based soups, not creamy ones, which can be fatty and highly caloric, says DeRobertis.

8 Almonds
All nuts have heart-healthy fats, but almonds contain the most fiber per serving, which can keep you fuller, longer. "Eating about 15 almonds between lunch and dinner can stave off that 4 P.M. energy dip, helping you avoid those cookies in the break room," says Kaye. Interestingly, one study suggested that our bodies may not absorb all of the fat in almonds, which might lead to an overall lower calorie intake when eating them. Still, don't overload on these snacks. "Eating too many almonds spoils your appetite for your next meal and contributes significant calories to your daily intake," says Kaye.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14735412090602373767noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2164054171928084751.post-80512924798452093092016-02-25T11:39:00.000-08:002016-02-29T05:57:26.641-08:00Health:6 Healthy Reasons to Drink Coffee
More happy news is brewing for coffee lovers — yet another study has found the beloved beverage is good for you.

A Southampton University research team found drinking coffee may reduce the risk of liver cirrhosis, aka scarring of the liver caused by conditions like chronic alcohol abuse and hepatitis. Cirrhosis has no cure and up to 50 percent of all cases are caused by alcohol consumption, according to the World Health Organization. But when researchers analyzed nine different studies on coffee's effects on alcohol consumption, they discovered drinking even one cup of coffee a day can reduce the risk of developing the condition by 22 percent.

Drink more than one cup a day? Even better. According to the February 2016 review published in Alimentary Pharmacology and Therapeutics, cirrhosis risk was 43 percent lower after two cups of java each day, 57 percent lower after three, and 65 percent lower after four. It's worth noting this doesn't mean a coffee reverses liver damage caused by drinking too much — it's just associated with a reduced risk of developing cirrhosis in the future.

This study is just one of many to link coffee drinking with good health. And because few things are as gratifying as finding out you've been doing something healthy without even trying, here are some of our favorite java guzzlers to share five more ways coffee has been linked to better health:

1 Lower risk of dying from cardiovascular disease

According to a November 2015 study published in the American Heart Association's (AMA) journal Circulation, people who enjoy three to five cups of coffee — doesn't matter if it's regular or decaf — each day had a lower risk of dying prematurely from several illnesses, including cardiovascular disease, neurological diseases (such as Parkinson's disease), type 2 diabetes, and suicide.

Researchers from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health wanted to see if there was a link between drinking coffee and longevity, so they examined the data from three larger ongoing studies that consisted of 208,000 men and women.

"These data support the 2015 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Report that concluded that 'moderate coffee consumption' can be incorporated into a healthy dietary pattern," said senior author Frank Hu, professor of nutrition and epidemiology, in a press release.

2 Lower risk of breast cancer coming back after treatment

In a February 2015 study published in Clinical Cancer Research, researchers from Sweden discovered that breast cancer survivors who drank at least two cups of coffee each day had half the risk of recurrence compared to those who sipped less or no coffee at all. The study of 1,090 breast cancer patients also showed the women who enjoyed at least two cups of coffee a day had smaller tumors and a lower proportion of hormone-dependent tumors.

3 Reduced type 2 diabetes risk

In an April 2014 review of three major studies that looked at more than 123,000 adults over a 20-year period, researchers found increasing coffee consumption by (on average) 1.5 cups per day over 4 years reduces the risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 11 percent. In fact, those who sipped three or more cups of java per day had the lowest risk of type 2 diabetes, which was 37 percent lower than those who consumed a cup or less per day.

4 Better survival in colon cancer patients

According to an August 2015 study published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, drinking caffeinated coffee may prevent colon cancer from returning. After analyzing the questionnaires of nearly 1,000 adults who were treated with surgery and chemotherapy for stage III colon cancer, researchers discovered these patients were 42 percent less likely to have their cancer return than non-coffee drinkers, and were 34 percent less likely to die from cancer or any other cause. "If you are a coffee drinker and are being treated for colon cancer, don't stop," said lead study author Charles S. Fuchs, MD, MPH, Director at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, in a press release. "But if you're not a coffee drinker and wondering whether to start, you should first discuss it with your physician."

5 Better liver health

In an October 2014 study of nearly 28,000 adults published in the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases' journal Hepatology, researchers found people who consumed more three or more cups of coffee each day had lower levels of abnormal liver enzymes. "These data suggest that ingredients in coffee, other than caffeine, may promote liver health," said lead researcher Qian Xiao, PhD, MPH, from the National Cancer Institute in a press release.

6 Lower risk of death

The AMA's study isn't the first time coffee has been associated with lower mortality risk. A 2012 National Cancer Institute (NCI) study of nearly 400,000 older adults (ages 50 to 71) showed people who drink regular or decaf coffee were less likely to die from a host of fatal conditions — such as heart disease, respiratory disease, injuries and accidents, stroke, diabetes, and infections — compared to those who don't drink coffee.

Reference source:womansdayAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14735412090602373767noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2164054171928084751.post-25688707305508621162016-02-25T11:28:00.000-08:002016-02-29T05:57:26.685-08:00Fashion tips:This Simple Trick for Putting On a Clasp Bracelet By Yourself Is Genius
When you're in a rush to get out the door, it's always a hassle to put on a clasp bracelet. You know how it is: If you don't have someone there to help, you're stuck struggling, wishing you had a third hand.

If you're like us, you've tried laying your hand on a table, as if you're preparing for a procedure. When that doesn't work, you hold down the bottom half of the bracelet on your wrist and jerk your hand until the other half meets the clasp. Somehow you always manage it, but it's never easy.

Of course, there are accessories you can buy to make the process easier—like the Bracelet Buddy—but why spend the extra money? Especially now that we know there's a much simpler way to put them on, thanks to a handy (see what we did there?) household item—Scotch tape!

Take a small piece of tape, and place it on the end of the bracelet without the clasp. Then put both on your wrist, and you should be able to easily bring the clasp to the circle. Easy, right? Even better, the whole process takes seconds.

Reference source:womansdayAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14735412090602373767noreply@blogger.com
